Kiblind - Hel Covell - Estate Hang

Hel Covell lives in Yorkshire, far up in the north of England, always surrounded 
by her precious friends, real or imaginary. It is thanks to this little band of 
friends that, over the years of her young career, she has been able to defy the 
sometimes cruel world of freelance work and take up challenges as varied as they 
are exciting: painting arcade games for the V&A Museum in London, creating a 
children's book, working for a famous retail brand, making illustrations for a 
video game, etc. The apparent naivety of her drawing, the fragility of her line 
and her ability to humanize a whole host of strange beings make Hel Covell's 
illustrations sensitive and touching. One would almost feel like closing the 
curtains, and inviting all these little people to sit on the couch and drink 
hot chocolate with marshmallows while watching Miyazaki's complete works.

Hel Covell wohnt in Yorkshire, ganz im Norden von England, und hat immer ihre 
lieben Freunde um sich, egal ob echt oder nur in ihrer Fantasie. Dank dieser 
kleinen Gruppe von Freunden konnte sie in den Jahren ihrer jungen Karriere der 
manchmal grausamen Welt der freiberuflichen Arbeit trotzen und sich so vielfältigen 
wie spannenden Herausforderungen stellen: Sie malte Arcade-Spiele für das V&A 
Museum in London, schuf ein Kinderbuch, arbeitete für eine bekannte Einzelhandelsmarke, 
fertigte Illustrationen für ein Videospiel an usw. Die scheinbare Naivität ihrer 
Zeichnungen, die Zartheit ihrer Linienführung und ihre Fähigkeit, eine ganze Reihe 
seltsamer Wesen zu vermenschlichen, machen Hel Covells Illustrationen einfühlsam 
und berührend. Man möchte fast die Vorhänge zuziehen und all diese kleinen Leute 
einladen, sich auf die Couch zu setzen und heiße Schokolade mit Marshmallows zu 
trinken, während man sich Miyazakis Gesamtwerk ansieht.
