Bathroom talk

Kitchener Bathroom Shelves

Over the last year we have increased our cosmetic and wellness range. We were fed up with the amount of plastic wrapped products in our bathrooms! These are the products we use every day and we want them to be produced and packed in a sustainable and fair way. We don’t wanna use any products that are tested on animals, if they are vegan even better!

We believe in buying less and buying better, choosing useful and long-lasting goods.

As a store our mission is to support little brands that share our values and their creative producers. We are so excited to see that there is more and more people out there who start producing in an ethical way and we want to help them spread the word!

So, you are invited to have a look into our shelves:

Aesop from Melbourne

“Our objective has always been to formulate skin, hair and body care products of the finest quality; we investigate widely to source plant-based and laboratory-made ingredients”

We love the aesop deodorant and handcream and we particularly like the philosophy behind AESOP skincare. Their takes different approach than many of the skincare brands you see today. While the beauty industry continues to trend toward a landscape that is focused on fighting age and combatting skin conditions, AESOP takes a stance to treat, heal, and protect your skin as part of your daily lifestyle. AESOP doesn’t want you to run from the signs of age that will inevitably appear on your skin, instead, it supports embracing and protecting your skin so it can grow with you.

Soeder from Zürich

Soeder uses only organic ingredients and is produced in their soap factory near Zürich.. In line with all Soeder* production principles, the soap consists of all-natural ingredients such as essential oils, distilled water and sea salt. The latter gives the soap an antibacterial effect. Glycerine makes up a great part of the soap and creates a moisturizing impact. For an outstanding caring effect there is sustainable palm oil and essential oils from coconut, castor bean, hemp, olive and jojoba. All of which come from sustainable sources and carry a corresponding certification. Honey from Zurich's Oberland and organic wheat are added for their regenerating effect. All Soeder soaps come in glas Bottles with very economical dispensers and can be refilled in our stores. We like them so much that we produced our own kitchener soap in collaboration with them!

Savon stories from England

Handcrafted organic skincare & remedies made with a century’s old family ethos: to nurture the best of good green earth & to be rich with less than more. They call it “raw minimalism” and it defines everything they do. “We believe that healthy eating, clean air, and gentle character is the best start to genuine wellbeing. Take care of the inside, and the outside should care for itself.” We love their Moroccan Black Soap and the Argan oil which is Hand-harvested in the region of our their family farm. This ancient Moroccan oil is produced from the kernels of the argan tree. Whilst the pure oil is usually heavily diluted or strongly filtered to rid the oil of its deep, earthy aroma, this one is left raw & unfiltered to retain all of its exceptionally rich powerhouse of age-refining vitamins, antioxidants, and moisturising and hydrating compounds.

Sana Jardin from Marocco

Sana Jardin is a project of which we are particularly excited about. Sana Jardin is the world’s first socially-conscious, luxury fragrance house. Blazing a revolutionary trail in scent, spirit and humanity.

A first in the fragrance world, they were created primarily as a vehicle for social change to power social impact through the economic empowerment of women through The Beyond Sustainability™ Movement. Starting with female flower harvesters in Morocco, who hand pick floral ingredients for Sana Jardin’s perfumes. Beyond Sustainability™ is a movement to create tangible and measurable social change through commerce, not charity. It’s a movement to create female entrepreneurs who are agents of change in their community. It is built on traditional, sustainable practices and fair trade. Beyond Sustainability™ is preserving heritage skills while inspiring the next generation of artisans.

But wait! There are more brands to discover.

Find about Yope, for example, a polish brand who does bath and cleansing products. Or get to know the traditional soaps and colognes from Claus Porto who’s factory is still installed in it’s home city of Porto, where the soaps are crafted using mechanical, old-world methods.

There’s Haeckels from Margate who Use business to inspire and implement solutions to the worlds ocean crisis or the Humble cp. who develops reliable health/wellness products, that are eco-friendly and socially responsible. Humble Brush is a toothbrush that will clean just as well and last just as long as your regular plastic toothbrush, with the added benefit of being better for the environment. With a 100% sustainable bamboo handle, Humble Brush is the eco-friendly and socially responsible toothbrush choice, as every Humble purchase funds projects for the benefit of children in need. And hell yeah they look nice to!

Because there is no planet B!
