Barbara Prainsack is a professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Vienna, before that she taught at King's College London. She is an internationally renowned expert on health, science and technology policy and is active in advisory bodies, including advising the European Commission on the ethics of new technologies. Prainsack is a member of the British Royal Society of Arts of the Academia Europaea.

Barbara Prainsack ist Professorin am Institut für Politikwissenschaft der Universität Wien, davor lehrte sie am King's College London. Sie ist international ausgewiesene Expertin für Gesundheits-, Wissenschafts- und Technologiepolitik und in Beratungsgremien tätig, u.a. berät sie die Europäische Kommission zur Ethik neuer Technologien. Prainsack ist Mitglied der britischen Royal Society of Arts der Academia Europaea.
