Schnee von Gestern - Postkarten

What do people associate more with Switzerland than skiing! This is the subject of the fourth volume of the popular postcard books published by the Alpine Museum of Switzerland. In keeping with the motto "Everything skis", Snow of Yesterday offers a diverse insight into the museum's collection in 40 pictures and with the help of three accompanying texts. The collection includes numerous objects related to the subject of skiing as well as photographs from the photo archive of the Kunstanstalt Brügger, Meiringen (1878-1994). The Kunstanstalt specialised in advertising and commissioned photography in the fields of tourism, the hotel industry and gastronomy, and its photographs document the rapid development of the skiing leisure culture from its beginnings to its establishment as a popular sport from the 1950s onwards.

Was verbindet man mehr mit der Schweiz als Ski! Dieser Tatsache widmet sich der nunmehr vierte Band der beliebten Postkartenbücher, herausgegeben vom Alpinen Museum der Schweiz. Ganz nach der Devise "Alles fährt Ski" bietet Schnee von gestern auf 40 Bildern und anhand von drei Begleittexten einen vielfältigen Einblick in die Sammlung des Museums, die zahlreiche Objekte rund um das Thema Ski sowie Fotografien aus dem Fotoarchiv der Kunstanstalt Brügger, Meiringen (1878-1994), umfasst. Die Kunstanstalt war auf Werbe- und Auftragsfotografie in den Bereichen Tourismus, Hotellerie und Gastronomie spezialisiert und dokumentiert mit ihren Fotografien die rasante Entwicklung der Ski-Freizeitkultur von ihren Anfängen bis zu ihrer Etablierung als Breitensport ab den 1950er-Jahren.
