A vibrant sonic tapestry weaving together the diverse threads of Lusophone musical traditions,
Língua is the second full-length album by Portuguese duo Octa Push, composed of brothers Leoleo
and Mushug. Originally released in 2016 on their Combatentes label and reissued on vinyl by Rebel
Up! Records in 2019, the album is a heartfelt tribute to the rich musical heritage of Portuguese-
speaking countries. Blending electronic beats with rhythms from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Mozambique,
and beyond, Língua features collaborations with a host of artists, including Tó Trips, Batida,
Cachupa Psicadélica, Cátia Sá, Maria João, Ary, João Gomes, Braima Galissa, Alex Terrakota, AF
Diaphra, and the Gospel Collective. Sung predominantly in Portuguese, the album traverses genres
like semba, morna, funaná, afrohouse, and Brazilian music, creating a contemporary yet deeply
rooted soundscape.

Records auf Vinyl neu aufgelegt, ist das Album eine liebevolle Hommage an das reiche musikalische Erbe
portugiesischsprachiger Länder. Durch die Verschmelzung elektronischer Beats mit Rhythmen aus Angola,
Brasilien, Kap Verde, Mosambik und darüber hinaus, präsentiert Língua Kollaborationen mit einer Vielzahl
von Künstlern, darunter Tó Trips, Batida, Cachupa Psicadélica, Cátia Sá, Maria João, Ary, João Gomes,
Braima Galissa, Alex Terrakota, AF Diaphra und das Gospel Collective. Überwiegend auf Portugiesisch
gesungen, durchquert das Album Genres wie Semba, Morna, Funaná, Afrohouse und brasilianische Musik

Nebst einer grossartigen Auswahl an musikalischen Leckerbissen dient Bongo Joe mit seiner Terrasse und einer Bar mit seinem monatlichem Programm auch als Treffpunkt für Musikliebhaber. Das Label bringt immer wieder grossartige Platten auf den Markt, von anatomischem Psych-Pop bis afro-kubanischem Space Sound.
