Naturwein by Isabelle Legeron

Today, wines are produced in an increasingly unnatural way. Plants are sprayed with poison, and even in organic production numerous additives are used. But the best, most authentic wines are natural wines. Their style goes far beyond that of organically produced wines. The grapes are grown organically, and nothing is added or taken away from the wine, except at most some sulphur to stop the fermentation. But often not even that. Well ripened grapes are fermented and wine is produced as nature intended. In this way, unique scents and flavours unfold to delight the nose and palate. Isabelle Legeron, Master of Wine, explains in this book how natural wines are made, introduces producers and presents more than 140 wines.

Isabelle Legeron is the first French woman to hold the title of "Master of Wine". As a pioneer of the natural wine movement, she founded the "Raw Wine Festival" for natural and organic wines, whose events are held in England, Germany and America. She advises restaurants and has her own TV programme on the subject.
