Kessy Beldi was founded in 2014 and is a factory for recycled glass in Marrakech. The glass is
heated, blown and moulded and finally soaked in an advanced annealing lehr. It thus undergoes a
complete artisanal process to later mould elegant and refined design objects. Despite its apparent
delicacy, Kessy Beldi glass is an extremely resistant material that can easily withstand everyday
use (dishwasher or oven at moderate temperatures). The green aspect of the product comes from the
recycled glass used in its manufacture.

Kessy Beldi wurde 2014 gegründet und ist eine Fabrik für recyceltes Glas in Marrakech. Das Glas wird
erhitzt, geblasen und geformt und schließlich in einem fortschrittlichen Kühlofen getränkt. So
durchläuft es einen kompletten handwerklichen Prozess, um später elegante und edle Designobjekte zu
formen. Trotz seiner offensichtlichen Feinheit ist das Glas von Kessy Beldi ein äußerst widerstandsfähiges
Material, das den Alltag problemlos übersteht (Spülmaschine oder Backofen bei moderaten Temperaturen).
Der grüne Aspekt des Produkts stammt von dem für die Herstellung verwendeten Recyclingglas.

(EN) A genuine Moroccan institution, the beldi glass is since 1946, the year of its creation, the tea glass of all local families. Mouth blown from recycled glass, it is recognizable thanks to it small puffiness that allows people to grab it with no risk of burn, and to store it in cafes, on the iron racks. Just like everybody else, Bouchaib Harmouzi gets his beldi glasses in the heart of the Marrakech medina. Until that day he finds out supplies are no more. The small Casablanca based factory is about to shut down. A race then starts. The race of a rescue, to make this moroccan Madeleine survive no matter what. Without knowing anything about this business, Bouchaib Harmouzi jumps into the adventure by learning in the field the inherent method of this traditional industry he discovers with the action right at hand… The furnace that burns at over 1000°C this non-crystalline solid, the fast, delicate and exact blowing, and the soaking to create craft items with micro-imperfections that make them unique! For a lover of making, heritage and know-how, it didn’t take anything more to create Kessy Beldi, a new brand originating from one of the oldest patrimonial ventures of the country.

(DE) Das Beldi-Glas, eine echte marokkanische Institution, ist seit 1946, dem Jahr seiner Erfindung, das Teeglas aller einheimischen Familien. Es wird aus recyceltem Glas mundgeblasen und ist daran zu erkennen, dass es leicht aufgeblasen ist, so dass man es ohne Verbrennungsgefahr in die Hand nehmen und in Cafés auf den Eisenständern aufbewahren kann. Bouchaib Harmouzi kauft seine Beldi-Gläser wie alle anderen auch im Herzen der Medina von Marrakesch. Bis zu dem Tag, an dem er erfährt, dass es keine Vorräte mehr gibt. Die kleine Fabrik in Casablanca steht kurz vor der Schließung. Dann beginnt ein Wettlauf. Der Wettlauf um die Rettung der marokkanischen Madeleine, die um jeden Preis überleben muss. Ohne irgendetwas über dieses Geschäft zu wissen, stürzt sich Bouchaib Harmouzi in das Abenteuer, indem er vor Ort die Methoden dieser traditionellen Industrie kennenlernt, die er direkt vor Ort entdeckt... Der Ofen, der diesen nicht-kristallinen Feststoff bei über 1000°C brennt, das schnelle, delikate und genaue Blasen und das Einweichen, um handwerkliche Gegenstände mit Mikrofehlern zu schaffen, die sie einzigartig machen!
