EN: With only 20 British pounds in his pocket, Englishman John Boultbee Brooks emigrated to Birmingham in 1865, where a year later he opened a shop for harnesses and leather gadgets under the name JB Brooks & Co. Ten years later his horse unfortunately passed away. Since he could not afford a new one, he bought a bicycle instead. He found the saddle so uncomfortable that he started to design his own.

Shortly afterwards he secured his first saddle patent. Word quickly spread that Mr. Brooks made beautiful, handmade leather saddles. Inspired by his success, he also began to design bicycle bags and other bike accessories. The traditional craftsmanship was later passed down from generation to generation and remained in the possession of the Brooks family until 1958. After a short excursion to the Raleigh Group, Brooks England is now an independent brand that manufactures bags and leather accessories in the spirit of the founding family and is therefore more successful than ever. Because today you ride your bike in style and the handmade leather accessories meet the spirit of the times and decorate every bike.
