(EN:) Archivist is run by husband and wife duo William and Sarah, but over the last 20 years they have slowly welcomed some other brave souls into the mix. With guest appearances by their daughter Madeleine, and the very brave Katie (the first employee not to be a member of the family), Mark & Philippa to the newest additions at the Letterpress printers. They all share the conviction that gift giving is a joy, and that the world is a bit brighter with a mix of beautiful things and a touch of William’s wit.
Archivist was founded in 1998, (blimey that means that they have been anxiously worrying about whether they will have a good idea tomorrow for a very long time!). As the name might suggest; the archives of the Natural History Museum is where they first began. Although the archives have changed the enthusiasm for hunting for images has not gone. Collaborating with artists all over the world, they have created the finest range of British Letterpress Cards, Prints and lest we forget our luxury matches.
Ink and Paper have always been central ingredients to the business and now that they are the proud owners of Britain’s largest dedicated Letterpress printing facility, they have the wherewithal to take the famous quality and innovation to even higher levels. You, our customers are fabulously sophisticated and are rightly demanding of not only quality but integrity in manufacture and they are with you on this exciting journey where ‘unfettered consumerism’ is replaced by ‘conscious giving’.
(DE:) Archivist wird von dem Ehepaar William und Sarah geführt, aber in den letzten 20 Jahren haben sie nach und nach einige andere mutige Seelen in das Unternehmen aufgenommen. Mit Gastauftritten ihrer Tochter Madeleine und der sehr tapferen Katie (der ersten Mitarbeiterin, die kein Familienmitglied ist), Mark & Philippa bis hin zu den jüngsten Neuzugängen in der Buchdruckerei. Sie alle teilen die Überzeugung, dass Schenken eine Freude ist und dass die Welt mit einer Mischung aus schönen Dingen und einem Hauch von William's Witz ein bisschen heller ist.
Archivist wurde 1998 gegründet (verdammt, das bedeutet, dass sie sich schon sehr lange Gedanken darüber machen, ob sie morgen eine gute Idee haben werden!). Wie der Name schon vermuten lässt, war das Archiv des Naturhistorischen Museums der Ort, an dem sie ihren Anfang nahmen. Obwohl sich die Archive verändert haben, ist die Begeisterung für die Jagd nach Bildern geblieben. In Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlern auf der ganzen Welt haben sie das feinste Sortiment britischer Letterpress-Karten, Drucke und, nicht zu vergessen, unsere Luxus-Streichhölzer geschaffen.
Tinte und Papier waren schon immer zentrale Bestandteile des Unternehmens, und jetzt, da sie stolze Besitzer der größten Buchdruckerei Großbritanniens sind, haben sie die Mittel, die berühmte Qualität und Innovation auf ein noch höheres Niveau zu bringen.
